Lower School students welcome their classmates to a great school day during the morning news show created by students and mentored by Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Reynolds, and Student Center librarian, Ms. Morris.
“We plan to air our show every Wednesday and Friday during November and hope to do a show daily starting in December,” said Mrs. Reynolds. “This week Kindergarten recited and signed in Sign Language the Pledge of Allegiance, and we plan to incorporate ways for every student in Lower School to be a part of the show.”

Reynolds and Morris started the news show because they know how this will impact the students’ self-confidence. “Already students are becoming more confident behind the camera. They are learning time management skills, planning who will talk when, what they will say in unison, and it’s teaching them how to all work as a team to create a final product” said Morris.
What are some things we can look forward to watching on future news shows?
“We will be airing examples of how to incorporate our Key of Excellence each month in our daily school experiences with skits. We also plan to share clips of video, such as different activities or performances throughout the year,” said Reynolds. “We were also talking about incorporating some current events in our community and nation. The students are excited and coming up with new ideas every time we meet.”
