Radon PosterThe National Radon Poster Contest gives students, ages 9–14 years old, the opportunity to educate themselves and others about the dangers of radon. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer. You can’t see or smell radon. Testing is the only way to know your level of exposure. A group of 6th grade students, under the direction of art teacher, Mrs. Mary Shusta participated in this year’s Florida Radon Poster Contest.

The Florida Radon Poster Contest aims to educate and involve the community about the potential hazards of radon gas. This environmental poster contest is one of the means the Florida Department of Health uses to generate awareness among young citizens.

The following 6th grade students received certificates of participation for entering the Florida Radon Poster Contest:

  • Austin Gay
  • Sophia Bruno
  • Helena Panuthos
  • Hugh Seeley
  • Jada Tadros
  • Aundrea Wohnsen

Congratulations and thank you for participating!
