A Fundraising Auction and Gala Benefiting Admiral Farragut Academy

Admiral Farragut Academy is a private, college-prep, boarding and day school which serves students in PreK-12th grade. With two graduates who have walked on the moon and course offerings from scuba to aviation, Farragut is proud to offer our students the opportunities unlike other traditional schools. By attending and supporting this event, you are making a direct impact on our students’ Farragut Experience.

About the Event

For over 20 years, Admiral Farragut Academy volunteers (made up of current and past parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, alumni, and more) have hosted an auction and gala to raise funds for Farragut.

You’ll also have the opportunity to bid on experiences that are unique to Farragut. For example, last year’s live and silent auction items included a VIP Kennedy Space Center Experience with Astronaut Nicole Stott, Behind-the-Scenes Pentagon and U.S. Capital Tours in Washington D.C., and a Sunset Helicopter Tour of Tampa Bay.

Last year’s event featured famous speed-painter Michael Israel. This year we are featuring a popular, local band (TBA) that will get everyone dancing the night away!

The Evening Includes

  • Live entertainment and dancing
  • Live and silent auctions
  • Heavy hors-d’oeuvres and dessert
  • Open bar, ages 21 and up
  • Cocktail attire

“The event is always a really fun evening and a great way to connect with other families and supporters throughout our community!”
– Vickie Cuesta (AFA parent and event chair)

What makes Admiral Farragut Academy special?

Admiral Farragut Academy is a college-prep, private school located in St. Petersburg, Florida which serves girls and boys in PreK-12th grade. Our Upper School, which starts in 8th grade, is also known worldwide for its Boarding program and Naval Science program. The school’s mission is to provide a college preparatory environment that promotes academic excellence, leadership skills, and social development within a diverse community of young men and women. With two graduates who have walked on the moon and course offerings from scuba to aviation, Farragut is proud to offer students the opportunities unlike anywhere else. As a diverse community with students coming from 30 countries, 17 U.S. states, and various cultural backgrounds, Farragut provides financial assistance for deserving and qualified families.

“We have three daughters at Farragut. It’s an amazing institution. Farragut has state-of-the-art facilities with great technological systems. The academics and college prep aspect here is phenomenal but above all the Academy helps these young men and women build self-confidence. Any child after attending two years at Farragut can walk up to any adult and look them straight in the eye and shake their hand. This firm foundation of being able to show respect, integrity, and high self-esteem is embodied in the values taught to our children here. Our kids are taught to respect and honor every individual regardless of their race, religion or national origin. The extracurricular activities like robotics, art, science, and sports encourage the kids to think outside the box. Our daughters love and cherish every moment they spend at Farragut.” – Dr. & Mrs. Fackih

Why does Farragut host a fundraising event every year?

For more than 20 years parent volunteers at Admiral Farragut Academy have raised funds to pay for additional school needs that are not allocated in the school’s budget. Recent projects that were funded include buying a school van, resurfacing the tennis courts, installing filtered-water stations, adding sun shades at the playground, and much more! This group is a vital part of annual school improvements and they raise funds through large events including the Golf Tournament hosted in fall and the Annual Auction hosted in spring.

What will the silent and live auctions include?

There will be opportunities to silently bid on items like parking spots, class projects and experiential events. There will be items for all budgets and a variety of paintings and artwork to choose from. All proceeds will go to Admiral Farragut Academy.

Can I submit a charitable donation?

Yes of course! We are also open to opportunities for corporate partnerships and sponsorships. Admiral Farragut Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. Tax ID# 59-3038365

What if I bought tickets and can no longer attend?

All auction ticket purchases are non-refundable. If you or your guest can no longer attend, you may transfer your ticket(s). Please email auction@farragut.org with your transferred guest’s information including their name, email, phone number, and mailing address.
